Supermarkets, department stores, etc. must deduct 10% of your purchase price for every 3.5 minutes you stand in line.

And every time they don't smile at you, they have to give you a piece of peppermint?

How would that affect your shopping experience?

That might get the lines moving and the stores making sure they have better customer service. I'd like them to try your idea, and see if it works though...it would be nice to get the 10% discount and free peppermint for a while too.

This is a great idea! And if in a bank; perhaps you can devise some sort of interest accrued and applied to our accounts/into our pockets? Hmmm? (Instead of candy, how about a CHAIR?) For those who don't care for peppermint; how about a bowl of individually-wrapped ASSORTED candies? The employee can offer it to each of the folk not-smiled-at? (While smiling at each; of course....}:> ) I love the idea! Some of the places I shop, ( I live in a "tourist-traps-r-us" kind of city) I could not only SAVE (big-time) on the total purchase; but might leave with a gift certificate...! My question to you, dragon, is..How did you arrive at the figures you suggest? And just exactly how much time DID you spend in that line?? It's a great idea, BB. Maybe you should run for office? (NO, I am not! mad at you!) I know! You can be the Good Will Ambassador for the retailers of America! (Lord knows, they need someone....) Excellent, BB! Keep on thinking. Dragons Rule! }:>

I'd wait til there was a long line before I got in it.
Couldn't you just see all the people trying to out wait each other to get in the checkout line?
