Seems that is the most closely guarded secret in South Africa. They will always "say" they are on track and sure they will get FIFA to say the same but are they going to say any different? There are never any pictures of work in progress so either you believe them or you dont.
Until a couple of weeks ago there was an article in the British newspaper the Sun and lo and behold it had a picture of the new Stadium in Cape Town. Here is the article but I warn you,Porgie,it makes for depressing viewing and reading:

We are on track. And given shambles in SAFA, it's good that Local Organising Committee is separated from SAFA. hit a brick wall.
My main worry is the possible shortage of cement. There are these many stadia, the Gautrain, government housing projects and normal private building contracts to deal with. Our capacity to supply cement - even with the imports is suspect.

Quite a bit. The president of the Soccer Union is happy and all the metal worker union members are on strike this week!
honestly, I don't know anything more to help than that!

Well the FIFA president gave SA a visit a few weeks ago and he was very happy with our progress.
We only have 3 years left, I don't know if we'll get everything done in time.

From what I've read things are actually pretty much, more or less on track, barring any unfortunate incidents.
Seems that if we really put our backs into it, we may actually meet the deadline!
