I really love languages. Do you know of any expressions used in daily life these days that are truly South African? I'd like to catch up. "Cakes 4 Africa" posted a nice link, but I'm looking for some new ones!

New BMW 3 series - Anaconda(I don't know the relation)

The new energy saving bulbs - Xenon Bulbs(like the on a car)

Skwatter camp - Mshongoville

illegitimate child - Jesus Christ

A girl that parties too much - "Mugwanti"(made up word)

Heineken - "UEFA" (well they are the sponsors the champions league)

Taxis - "mageza"( Thanken from Xhosa for crazy people, the proper word is "Amageza") you did not hear it from me. Don't ever say it in front of them.

How about "lau", It is a Xhosa "word" used for Coloureds.
And "coconut" - black outside and white inside
And "Shosholoza " - sorry, I don´t know what it means. It´s been around for a while already.

And "tshayala time" Finish, end of the workday, time to go home.
