written and sung (originally) by Andrew Gold, the song title is "Thank You For Being A Friend" (1978), later sang by Cynthia Fee for the Golden Girls tv show in the 80's. Hope that helped you out. It is available on a greatest hits cd from him on amazon.com and some other sites I checked.
