Prostitution should not be legalized anywhere. Malaysia falls under the category of "anywhere," so I'm going with NO. If the government can't afford to regulate it and make sure it is safe and STD free, then it is a dangerous idea. Even if they can, it still promotes sexual promiscuity that objectifies women, destroys relationships, and creates an environment where poor, desperate women are used and manipulated. Not good.

In my very own opinion, why not? Since Singapore already doing this, for the sake of the people. Even if Malaysia do not allow prostitution, there are still a lot of illegal prostitution activities going on. This is an unwritten rule. If prostitution legalized in Malaysia, well, at least the prostitutes in Malaysia are more safe, in the way that they are checked for HIV or any other related disease before they do their work. Isn't it well?
(of course la, i'm not encouraging Malaysian to go for such activitiy!)

I think it should be illegal in Malaysia. Not for religious reasons, though.
Even though prostitution there is done in secret, it still discourages some people to do it if it is against the law. With HIV spreading, especially in Asia, its important to stop people from spreading or receiving the disease.

What difference does the law make in this case? Prostitutions is for the most part done secretly, and the law is for all practical purposes unenforceable.

I DONT AGREE WITH PROSTITUION:

BUT IT SHOULD BE LEGAL

becuase there will always be prostition, and if it is legal then there would have to be systems of protection in place. it would mean that the prositiues would be safe from harm and would not get beaten/murdered etc
id rather have it legal and know that they were safe than have it illegal at the cost of lifes and welfare!

I don't think it should be legalized, but if two people want to have consensual s*x then there should not be any punishment for that even if one of the people are married..
