My son's arm pits seem to be swollen. I made him a Dr. appointment for this afternoon i was just wondering if anyone else has had this happened to their child. I also have another question. I was trying to do those infant massages on him and i was rubbing on the back of his head behind his ear and i could feel like a little ball. It was probably the size of a pea. He is also getting that checked out today. I'm just a worried mom and who doesn't want to wait that long to find out what's wrong. Can anyone help?!

yeah, i have touched his arm pits and the thing behind his ear and they don't bother him at all, so it makes me feel a little better knowing he's not in pain

These are swollen lymphnodes. They catch infection in the body.
My son is 3 and still has them behind his ears..sorta up higher into his hair. Doctors have been telling me since he was about the same age as yours that everything is ok. They are small and doesn't bother him. But I went thru a lot of heartache feeling them thinking there was something wrong, some sort of infection in his body that the dr's are overlooking.

This is nothing you have done, it's just the way the body works. I'm sure they'll tell you he's fine, but follow your motherly instinct and go to the dr. If you don't like what one said, go to another.
Good luck mommy!

My son has had a quarter sized lump on the side of his neck since he was born, he is now 4 1/2 and the doctor checks it every year. She says it's a cyst and nothing to worry about unless it grows or changes. I wish I could say something to make you feel better about it, but in all honesty until your doctor checks it out you just don't know. I'm sure it's probably just a cyst and like my son your son will be fine :)

My son had a tiny pea sized lump behind his ear when he was 2 months old, the doctor said to leave it alone and not worry about it, so we left it alone and he is fine, 21 now.

I am the same way...matter of fact when my daughter was about that age she had the same knots in the same place...I think they are sort of like lymphnodes...your dr. will straighten it all out for you. As for the swollen armpits, it might tie in together with the not, maybe there is something going on with his lymphnodes...it could be something as small as hormones still in his system from the birth...I wouldnt worry too much about it until you see the dr.
