Its the only muscle that does this. I drink alot of OJ and other juices and drink more the enough water. I even stretch. What gives? I only swim freestyle and I do this in the ocean.

Maybe your kicking is not ballanced and you stress this muscle out first.

I am NO pro @ swimming, but maybe you should get someone to record you on video so you can see the way you swim , perhaps you are just moving the wrong way & that could be causing it ?

Coaches always seemed to recommend eating more bananas (or, in general, potassium) to help with beginning of season cramps. Could help.
