Take it back that usually means the hard drive is bad.
And don't take any crap from the geek squad.
Grab your receipt and go.

You need to contact Best Buy and get a tech out to check your system. Usually (not always) a clicking sound is from the hard drive.
Not to sound like an alarmist but normally when a hard drive starts clicking it is in the process of failing.
If you have any data on the hard drive you want to keep you need to back it on a seperate form of media like a floppy, re-writeable cd, pen drive.
Good luck with your new computer.

the only sounds that computers make are a humming sound, anything clanging is not normal for a computer,I would take it back to best buy have them plug it in and listen to the noise, tell them to replace it with a new one or give you a refund then I would recommend buying a different brand just to be on the safe side.If you check out consumer reports on line you can see how computers are ratted for price and what they have to offer

Is this the hard drive making that noise? If so, does your computer even start up?
That sound is HORRIBLE and if it is your hard drive and you are able to boot it up, you won't be for long. Take it back RIGHT AWAY and have them listen to it.
If you did "just buy it" - like within thte past few days, I would demand they replace the whole thing - don't let them try to fix it.

Probably one of the cables inside the box is banging up against the inner FAN that cools the cpu, thats typical if the cord got loose...
But yes, definetly take it back and make sure its 100% functional, problem free, and ready to run Out of the Box... Thats what you pay for, so thats what you should get...
PS: It is worth paying 150 for a 3 year warranty... You might need it, especially if you have kids.

The best thing to do is take it back to best buy.. and have them look at it... after all you just bought it, Don't wait to long, you only have 30 day warranty with Best buy, after that it is the manufactures you will be dealing with, and that could take ages to sort out,,,,
so like grease lighting get in touch with best buy's and sort it out now....
