Hello,

I just came up to some refurbished computers for around $300, and I was wondering if it is a good idea to buy refurbished computers? If possible, where can I find desktop computers in Calgary, Alberta? Thanks!

**Refurbished computers are computers that were malfunctional or damaged before (mostly returned products) and have been 're-made', also stating that it has the quality of a new product.

I don't know how this works with PCs, but usually refurbished Macs are even better quality than the original (my own iMac is refurbished). The bonus is that you've already found the problems and they've been fixed by a human being, instead of buying new and losing all your files a couple years from now when your computer dies.

Really, I'd check into the place that you found the computers at. Is it a reputable computer doctor, or some guy in his basement? Refurbished computers shouldn't be a problem, but make sure the people who do the work actually know what they're doing!

Hi, well there r many advantages of a desktop computer to a laptop in a shop. 1. Desktops r more powerful in terms of hardware. 2. They have a larger screen generally and that makes it easier to read. 3. They have more area for usage meaning like a desktop has a mouse whereas on a laptop u have a touch pad which is not very comfortable at all. 4. Desktops r also cheaper than laptops usually even though Desktops may have better hardware than laptops. I would suggest that if money is not a problem then u buy an iMac. I hope I helped. Good Luck and take care!

Yes, refurbished is usually fine- they're covered by warranties in the event you encounter a problem.

Plenty of computers may ship with a bad video card or have the hard drive fail early- replace the faulty component and the rest is good as new :)

Usually refurbished are OK. Sometimes the original owners had additional parts, memory etc. installed so you'll get more than a basic computer.
