I'm looking to get a custom part for my brother's bike for his birthday. He has a Harley Dyna Sportsbob bike. I want to get him a "legacy points cover".....but I'm not sure it will work on his bike or if it's "culturally" appropriate to put an Indian Larry points cover on a new Harley???

1. Can a custom points cover go on the bike? What do I need to know about the bike or the part before ordering?

2. Is it okay within the harley and custom chopper communities to have an Indian Larry custom logo part on a new Harley???

I don't know much about bikes and don't know if the part can even go on his bike. Thanks for any help in advance!

I aske the second question because I was wondering if it's "sacreligious" to place a old-time, chopper designer's logo on a new Harley.

You will need to know the year of the bike. because there are two different engines. If it is a new bike then it is a "twin cam"

There is nothing wrong with having a Legacy part on a new Harley. most start with small parts to customize it to make it their own.
If you need it quick contact JP cycles by phone they will help you as well as send a catalog for free that has all kinds of parts and apparel.

If that is what he wants than go right ahead. Harleys and customs go hand-in-hand so it isn't against the "chopper code" or anything. But make sure that is what he wants. I wouldn't want it on my bike and I have a home built custom. Indian Larry didn't build my bike, I did. If you are unsure he will like that, get him a Harley Davidson gift certificate. I know he will like that. Just make sure you get the certificate at HIS local dealership because they are all independently owned so they won't work at other dealers.

About whether or not it will fit, it should. Double check with your local Harley dealership. They will tell you everything you need to know.

I think Indian Larry would be proud. The cover should fit but ask a dealer first to make sure.

in basic terms desire to point out that Harley 883s in recent times do not carry their fee as much as human beings think of like a greater Harley could do. you may actual pay much less in maintenence for a Suzuki C50 or a Kawasaki 900 than any Harley, so evaluate that in the time of your funds interior the long-term.

Why wouldn't it be ok?
His bike, he can do with it as he pleases.
