How much time do we actually need in order to "turn the corner"? (For the 100th time?)

The surge didn't actually start in February, that's when the initial moves to deploy the troops involved in the surge started. It took about 3 months to get the troops and supplies in place to start the surge, so the actual time it's been happening is only about 2 months right now.

Which doesn't excuse the Iraqi government for it's poor performance. They're being handed a free country on a silver platter and doing nothing with it.

The surge didn't start in February, that was when it was announced we were going to do a surge.

The last troops for the surge, just arrived in Iraq this month.

So the surge just started.

The surge did not kick off until July 5th. What is this February date? You think we just beam these soldiers overseas?
