.cha files are created by a couple of different programs - and they are not compatible with each other.
There used to be a calendar program that created .cha files, but those were completely different than the .cha files that are created by mIRC chat files.
Like a previous poster already stated, you need to know what program created your .cha file to find out how to use it.
Here is a partial list of programs that use files ending in .cha - none of which create .cha in the same way.
