i dont support an 18+ Y!A but i do support a javascript or some other code programming about when you click on a question, there should be some age verification thing like just clicking i am over 18, this way things can be posted without the worrying of being deleted or suspension. this could then allow every age to participate in every category without having to go to another section and allow for the experienced to help the unexperienced. i patent this idea on this day at this time.

by the way tinker, in a place like this where its hard for two way conversation, you have to choose your words wisely, dont pin down someone with false accuasions that you accidentally said or didnt mean to the fullest. whether or not you meant to say "by saying that it sounds like you think your better than other people just becuase your older, " this would get me upset but i am takin it the other way. you should have said one would assume, this way you are not insulting someone. blah blah blah whatever, love you and all, peace son!

That is a great idea but with several pros and cons. I mean, most of the things I like to look at and answer most teen wouldn't (I am a teen) so I wouldn't get a chance to view those (like psychology, sociology, etc.). I mean, even I will say that there are several teens that aren't mature and are very annoying. But, some adult are too! And, lots of times we teens say that we are older than we are just to get into a site. And one would think that the people who make the websites would know that. But it must be a safety kinda thing so that if the young people get hurt somehow they can tell the gov. that they said only people over 18 were allowed in. Or something like that. Anywho I am rambling on and on like I tend to do.
Sooo, to answer your question I will say that No, I don't think that that should be done. But it is a great idea that is for sure. Not something I would give total support to, though.
Have a great day!

Just how are they going to really restrict this site to being only 18 and older? I think they should just restrict people from posting pornographic and obscene things, and very violent or very offensive things, and they are already doing a lot of that. I think they shouldn't break it up into 2 separate Y! Answer sites: this is mainly supposed to be a forum for discussion and learning things. And the fact is that there are many, many teenagers who know a lot and can be very, very helpful. And also a lot of the young ones, under 18, can benefit from the experience and knowledge of people over 18. I think it's fine as it is now. After all, parents should be the ones who monitor their kids internet access and what they're viewing. And Yahoo! Answers is a lot more beneficial and harmless than many, many other websites out there. I think it's fine as it is, but perhaps restrict people from posting obscene and innappropriate stuff. It's not just because there are kids reading this stuff, but it's just not that beneficial for older people too.

against, the only reason girls want it is so they can act like whores and the only reason guys want it is so they will
its nothing 12,13,14 and so one year olds havent seen or heard before anyway, most kids are loosing there virginity at 13 so they know more than you think

Great idea and they need to get rid of the no chatty questions rule too. I don't consider it being chatty i consider it being curious.

Definitely, I think Y!A Main should be for adults only and there should be a teen site. It can get pretty sleezy on here (Myself included at times) including the avatars.
We forget that bairns as young as ten come on here. They need protecting ... from us.

no, just because not all teenagers are annoying, and not everyone over 18 is mature either
this sight is for any yahoo user, by saying that it sounds like you think your better than other people just becuase your older, and its really not the younger people causing the problems, its $mitty and skin head charlie, who in a question i heard was in his 30's so what good would that do
and you would still get people like that rude troll guy, and some of the people younger than 18 dont cause any problems, they just get judged and shoved into that catagory because of one or two others, personally ive never noticed anything bad a teen has said, but i have been called names by older people like that troll
