Do you think it was smart of me to kinda give up getting gifts for x mas this year.... My mom and I talked and we agreed we can go on a nice vacay to flordia if i want that for a gift instead of lots of presents.
I'll still get some small things and have money. Was i dumb lol?

Not dumb at all. The gift will be a nice vacation with your mom. A lot of time xmas presents get forgotten after a while, but a vacation will give you memories you'll have forever.

This is a great idea! I'd way rather have the memories of the vacation than gifts that I'll forget about in a month or two. My parents started doing this with us in high school (I'm in my late 20s now) and it was the best thing. We still did stockings for each other but they were just little things. I love travelling so this was a lot more fun! Life's not all about the "stuff" and that's not what you'll remember in 50 years!

I don't think it's dumb at all. I was actually considering it.
We all tend to have so much "stuff" these days. I think it would be a nice change to have an experience, rather than physical gifts.
Think of all the pictures you can take, the fun you can have and the memories you can create with a gift like that. It's a lot better than a new CD or some clothes.
I say go for it!

No that would be kinda fun and you still get some gifts and you always have your birthday! Lol! I think that would be fun because you can just sit back and relax and get outa the house. And there's always santa LOL!

No, that's always a good idea. Think about it, would you rather get some awesome travel time with your mom or a sweater you'll wear four times? Memories are forever.
