I don't care about the Bronx show, but it further highlights just how the Derby, as currently produced, is bad television -- the players muck about, their entourages get into the act, no one even remotely tries to get the thing to move along... it COULD be good television, but it is not.

Now, it can be great fun for the live crowd, and all those kids milling about the outfield, and that's fine. But it makes for lousy television. I had been out to dinner, got home in time to tune in for the last hitter of the second round... and it just dragged on, and on... ads... final round... ads... Rios... ads... Vlad... ads... Vlad finished... yawn. I wasn't really watching closely, it was background noise, but it was just awful, like watching paint dry. Changed channels about a minute after Guerrero hit the winning dinger (and walked away from the plate with apparent relief and disinterest) when it became obvious that there wasn't going to be any prompt trophy presentation, and he wasn't bothering to speak English last night anyway. So, forget it.

Unless the broadcast net (here, ESPN) tightens up the production -- think the olde, original Home Run Derby show, with an empty field except for the batters and pitcher -- and gets right to the point, which is HOME RUNS, this style HRD will continue to circle the drain. Even the little bit I watched was dreadful.

yes, supposed to be aired following the HR Derby..I stop watching the HR Derby after the first round, became uninteresting, and the fact that I hate the Yankees, I have absolute no interest in watching Bronx Burning...sorry.

Here in Milwaukee, it came on shortly after 10pm, right after the derby ended. So, it would've been on at 11pm for you. I really wanted to watch it, but I had to get ready for work. It seemed like the HR Derby was never going to end. I was disappointed that I didn't get to see the first episode.

I don't get ESPN, it pipes through SportsNet up here in Canada, but they said a number of times that the Bronx Is Burning would follow the home run contest, so, I would guess it was going to be on at 11pm.

I really wanted to watch the softball game, but it wasn't going to be shown in Canada.

It was on at 11pm after the homerun derby. Everything got pushed back 1 hour, the celebrity softball game was at midnight.

Does the HR derby, or any all-star competition end when it is supposed to?? No, it does not, that's why you either get Tivo or a DVR and tape it, it was on right after the derby on the east coast.....

it came on a 11. the derby ran an hour long so everything was pushed back an hour. its like when a football goes long sixty minutes gets pushed back.
