To be honest I thought Britain was a world power. But after 1945 the two superpowers were USA and USSR. I am not sure that technically Britain is or ever has been a superpower as it a modern era term

No way, absolutley not. In a few years time there won't even be a UK, it will be dissolved and Scotland, England and Wales going their own way. The UK is the old dying Bulldog that lost it's bark and it's will to live.
