hee hee you sound just like me, as soon as we had our anomaly scan at 20 weeks we went right out and bought a travel system that same day - like you because it was on offer. After that there was no stopping me! Now at 34 weeks I only have the cot bedding left to get which is great cause I feel really organised and believe me when you get bigger the last thing you want to do is go round the shops. The way I saw it was if god forbid anything went wrong the fact that I had bought stuff could not make me feel any worse than I did already. You just do what feels right for you.

I started as soon as I could. I started buying unisex clothes at 3 months and now if really on sale I will buy it no matter if its for a boy or a girl. I figure its a good deal lol. I am 4 1/2 months now and once I found out what we are having I will start stocking up on everything. Like say we have a boy instead of a girl whatever I bought before on sale for a girl I will turn around and sell or give it to the next friend I have thats having a girl as a shower gift or something. Its never too early to be prepaired. If you wait too long you find yourself having to buy everything last minute and the cute outfit you wanted before might not be there anymore. Buying everything last minute becomes very expensive very fast. Stock up on the good deals while you still can.

With my first son I bought his first blanket as soon as I found out that I was pregnant. At 5 1/2 months is a very good time to start buying because you are feeling well enough to do so. If you started at 8 or 9 months you would be miserable, trust me. Get all that you think you need, remember you may have a baby shower and that bring you some furniture from the grandparents so.........buy clothes, blankets, diapers, etc. Have fun !!!! I love to buy baby things :) CONGRATS and Good Luck !!!!

I have already started buying stuff and I am 4 months. I'm having twins, so I've been stocking up on baby wash, unisex clothes, bottles, etc. As soon as I find out the sexes, I will really start buying! I think you are ok to start buying now. After 12 weeks, the risk of miscarriage drops significantly.

First Congratulations. I don't think that it is to early to start buying things for the new baby. If you registered at a store don't buy those things so that others can buy them for you. If you know the sex of the baby why don't you go and buy the baby an outfit to come home in from the hospital. Good luck and have fun the new little one.

I'm not married yet, although we have our first 'buttercup' onesie sitting in our dresser, given as a going away gift before moving to Ireland for a year. I think it was more 'while you are away, have fun, but REALLY have fun' gift.
haha.
So, no it is never too early to start a little moderate shopping, but save the huge purchases until you are a little further along.
I'm so textile I'm worried that when I am pregnant, nothing will be soft, smooth, or baby plush enough to purchase.

When we were suprised with out 3rd pregnancy I was out and online the next day looking for things. (We though we were done with having kids.and I had gotten rid of my baby items years ago) Not only is it fun, but you never know what deals you find out there while looking. I am due in 6 weeks, and have been set with everyting for over a month now. Have fun, enjoy every minute of it. There is no set time rule of when to start buying.

I don't think it is ever too early but if you want to start buying things it would be in your best interest to start investing in his or her college fund. I live in Florida and I have a college fund started for my 3 month old daughter already. I know it's not as fun as buying clothes or toys but you will be thankful in the long run. Seriously, think about it!!!

I started buying stuff the day after I got pregnant - LOL!
Starting early is a good thing for your budget - but if someone is going to give you a shower, make sure you leave stuff for your friends and family to buy you!
