Sure u can do what u want, as long as u have proof of what ur maiden name is for the bank u can, & I would encourage it, so u dont get into situations where u break up with a spouse & then he takes the money & ur screwed!! always think ahead! Good Luck -Nay
PS- if u use the same bank u had the other account at there might be some kind of insentive, ask if they give u perks...

To open an account, you need to present ID, showing your name. Would that be a problem? I have a hyphenated last name, and use just the maiden name on 2 of my accounts.
Besides, the policy you want to pay into an account can be transferred to anyone's account, I do believe.

Sometimes the bank can decline you if you are using both married and maiden names, it constitutes to fraud in the end so you should either just do a name change or call the bank manager for a meeting. Good luck

Unless you have changed your name back to your maiden name I want to say no you cannot open it in your maiden name because all of the ID that you are using to open the account will have your married name on it. If you were divorced you would be able to show your divorce papers, but other then that you would need to prove that you have changed your name.
If you opened a joint account with you husband you have to remember that you needed your marriage license to show that your name was changed.

Only if you have 2 forms of ID acceptable to the bank in your maiden name - ie driving licence, passport, household bills.
Why not look at changing your name back officially - its really cheap to do.
Good luck!

You would need to go to a solicitor first to change your name back by deed poll, then as long as you have documents needed to open account with the name on it you can!

banks want to see driving licence and/or passport in order to open an account. You will need one or other of these, showing your maden name in order to open an account.

As long as you can provide the docs to set up the account and prove that name is valid, yes.
