i just bought a new computer and lcd monitor, but my computer hasn't arrived yet. i hooked my monitor up to my old computer[about 6 years old and definitely not the best], and the screen now has a yellow tint to it. i adjusted the colors and everything else i could think of, but nothing worked. is it because of the computer, and should i wait until the new one comes in? or is something wrong with the monitor itself? i'm not very good with this stuff. thank you!

i checked to see if everything was plugged in right, and even used a different cord, but its still yellow-ish. my old monitor looked fine. i'm sure the graphics card isn't very good so maybe thats it.

Check the cable. Unplug each end and make sure that there are no bent pins, and then plug it back in and secure it with the thumbscrews.

When you unplug the cable, does a test message come up on the screen (Like Check Cable) It should change colours, if that has a tint to it it is probably a monitor problem.

Pop up the OSD menu with the monitor controls, If the OSD has a tint then it is definitely a monitor problem.

If the monitor looks OK. on the OSD and the test message, then it could still be a monitor problem, but it could also be the graphics card/chip in the computer.

Do you still have your old monitor? What does that look like?
