War has nothing to do with fair. Asking if a war is fair is completely pointless, because it almost always is not, and wouldn't make a difference if it was.

The war on Iraq is over.
Your question should read "Was the war on Iraq fair or not fair?" There is a free government in Iraq now. Iraqi's just need to support it 100%.

No war is fair, especially when there are Innocent people
killed.
This war started out to liberate the Iraqi people, we did. Our Military did not sign up to fight in a civil war between the Shiites and Sunnis, and a massive amount of insurgents, with all the guns and artillery, that is being supplied by another country, most likely Iran and Syria.
If these people want to kill each-other, that is their problem, We must pull out of Iraq,
We are not only fighting the Sunnis & the Shiites, but also troops from Iran, Syria and who knows others that are there.
Today, American Soldiers got into a gun fight with the Iraqi police. You can not trust these people!
This is not what President said, he said we will liberate the Iraqi people, we never agreed to fight all of this evil. They have been killing each-other since the days of Abraham.

All is fair in love and war. I don't think a war can be fair or unfair. What makes a war fair? Do you mean fair as in both sides are equally equipped and are fighting a fair fight? Do you mean fair in that there are rules that both sides are following? The terrorists in Iraq target civilians - is that fair? We aren't allowed to use our full assortment of weapons, i.e. nuclear weapons - is that fair? I guess it all depends on which side you're on? I think the question needs to do more to explain what you're asking.

I do not believe that the war in Iraq is fair.
It's an unnecessary military expedition that is ending or ruining the lives of countless American soldiers as well as Iraqi citizens. The conflict in Iraq didn't involve the American people, so the need to rush in and "save the day" was completely unfounded. A lot of Iraqi people aren't happy with the occupation, which is understandable. Would you be happy if a foreign country was in your country? I don't think so.
A better idea would have been to spend the millions of dollars that have gone into the war in Iraq on the people of America, giving those who are impoverished a better life and improving health care so that people weren't dying because they don't have a high enough income.

Fair, This is what this country is about "Freedom" why is it that we feel no other country deserves this. There are innocent people dying in Iraq, but to keep the terrorists from pulling another 9/11 on us, we need our military to keep them on their own soil to protect our own. Could you imagine seeing the torture of your loved ones on a daily basis! I am in favor of helping Iraq become free.

What can possibly be 'fair' about any war?
This 'war' in Iraq is the most unfair of all because:
a) It was motivated purely for personal reasons. The Bush family had a personal vendetta against Hussein, and Cheney wanted all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands;
b) Our Congress and "we the people" were lied to about 'weapons of mass destruction' which did not exist, yet which was the compelling reason for going to 'war' in the first place;
c) We unconstitutionally, illegally, unjustifiably and immorally attacked another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States;
d) American soldiers were conned into believing they were fighting to bring democracy to Iraq or establish peace in the Middle East. In fact, this 'war' has - from Day One - been all about OIL and WAR PROFITEERING;
e) The giant U.S. military-industrial complex needed a new 'war' to boost its sagging profits - and two newcomers to the government contractors' trough needed to share in the wealth: the Carlyle Group and Halliburton both have direct ties to the Bush-Cheney White House;
f) We obviously had no moral compunction about killing 675,000 innocent Iraqis and 3,500 U.S. soldiers all for the sake of making a handful of Americans stinking rich.
No, there is nothing 'fair' about this insane 'war'. -RKO- 07/10/07

A war on terrorism sounded fair (OK I'm gullible and naive), but a war for Iraq oil? Look at Bushes rating the longer the war drags on.

There is no "War on Iraq" love, there is a war on terror though that is being fought in Iraqi soil.
Define Fair? Equal? disbursed evenly?
If that is the definition it is fair alright, heaps of our men and they're men are dying. Families on both sides are being destroyed, and it is hurting both of our economies.
If the question is " Do you think the War on Terror is a good idea"?
My answer is " No. "

The whole point is moot. We went in there because Saddam wouldn't let inspections occur, etc. If your kid hides his hands behind his back when you ask him what he's got, don't you make sure you grab his hands and have a look for yourself? Don't you think there's a reason he's hiding something? It's very suspicious behavior and I still think we were right to go in and make sure. Unfortunately, the shiites and sunnis now go after each other making it difficult for us to straighten things out to the point where we can leave the country without it being torn to bits. We would feel responsible for that. Some things just don't go as planned, and I don't think Bush alone is at fault for that.
