I think you have to retain BT as your ISP if you wish to continue using their email service. However, speak to them as they must get a lot of enquiries of this nature.

You want to maintain an Internet email account without an Internet connection.
Three choices 1) at work, 2) Internet Cafe or 3) Leech off your friends.
For all three I recommend using a USB flash drive and PortableApps from http://portableapps.com/...

You can't, it's deleted when you cancel.
Switch to Yahoo or Gmail and they will always be available online.
