I believe it is acceptable to type "<=". Or you could go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map. The scroll way down the list until you see the symbol, click it then click the select button and then the copy button. Now you can paste it into your document. I know this works with the Arial font, but I don't know about other fonts.

The equal sign is next to backspace at the top right of the keyboard, the less than sign is to the right of the m, hit shift when you type it.

On the top of the page (in Microsoft Word) you would click insert and scroll down to symbols then choose which ever symbol you need. The "less than equal" symbol is in there.

if you look on your key board there are two keys next to the "m" above the space bar on those two keys there are the less than signs. You press shift and that key and you will get the little "<" and if you want the "or equal to " part you can just underline it in word or whatever you are using

In Wordpad or Word (but not Notepad) you can use what is
called a Unicode.
Type the four digits, 2264 and then press ALT-X, by holding
down the ALT key while pressing X.
It won't work directly in Yahoo Answers, but you should be
able to copy and paste it, although I haven't tried that yet.

If you want to use it in Yahoo! Answers, make sure your number lock is on in your keyboard. Then hold the ALT key while you enter the numbers 243 in the numbers keypad. When you release the ALT key ≤ will appear.
