Amen Frizzer! I grew up watching the Braves in the and I loved it when Andruw and Chipper Jones were younger they both wore their socks up high. I love it! I always wore them like that when I play little league. More stirrups and high socks MLB!

They are called stirrups and they are traditional elements of the uniform. Some players today pull the bottom of their pants down over the ankles and leave the stirrups off so many new fans of the game are not aware of the stirrups. If you notice, some players still pull their stirrups up high and fold the pants, inside out, put their feet in and pull the pants up leaving the stirrups visible.
