Always try to act like you belong there.
If they are rude - accept it because they don't know any better.
Work on some comebacks to "disarm" them. If someone insults you say something like "offense accepted" and then just walk away.

This is a joke, right ?....isn't it? "known to be rude ?" Known by whom? The local KKK? A college where most are Indian, black or Chinese? Translation: = more than the 1 or 2 in this one-horse town . I think somebody's been b.s.ing you to a ridiculous degree . Relax . Don't worry , & don't make any assumptions about anybody . Go into it with an open mind & it'll be OK . btw, where are you from?
ps One thing that may have led to the "rude" impression , is that in China, apparently people don't stand in line. I saw a story about preparations for the Olympics. That includes practicing "queing" one day each week .;D

I dont't think "rude" is the right word. These are cultures that are very different than yours so you may feel that you don't have a lot in common with the other students. Keep in mind however that these students are your peers and probably have the same interests and likes that you do. Don't go there with a preconcieved notion of what people will be like but rather with an open mind. If you treat people the way you want to be treated, they will respond in kind. I live in a very culturally diverse area and my teenagers have no problem with the fact that their friends are all different nationalities. Enjoy college!

Well it seems like you only feel comfortable around Caucasians. And since you seem to believe that some of these groups are classified as caucasians then you should have no problem!
I don't understand what you have to worry about. Enjoy =)
