let x = number of mango trees
then 2/5 x = number of guava trees
and 8/5 x = number of avacado trees
x + 2/5 x + 8/5 x = 1245
x + 10/5 x = 1245
3x = 1245
x = 415
2/5 x = 166
8/5 x = 664
so number of avacado trees = 664

Add up the numbers in the ratio 5:2:8
5+2+8 = 15
You can therefore split the trees up into 15 groups, each group contains 1245/15 = 83 trees.
5 groups of Mango trees: 83 * 5 = 415 trees
2 groups of Guava trees: 83 * 2 = 166 trees
8 groups of Avocado trees: 83 * 8 = 664 trees

Number of Avocado trees = 8 x 1245 / 15 = 664
Number of Guava trees = 2 x 1245 / 15 = 166
Number of Mango trees = 5 x 1245 / 15 = 415
See that they add up to 1245. So, answer is correct.

Mango: 5/15 * 1,245 = 415
Guava: 2/15 * 1,245 = 166
Avocado: 8/15 * 1,245 = 664
Avocado is the final answer, 664..
Proof:
415 + 166 + 815 = 1245

Well , 1st pick a variable... say x for example then do the equation , 5x + 2x + 8x = 1245, then add it to mae 15x=1245... then divide 1245 by 15 and that is what x = 83 then take 8x = 8 (83) There are 664 avacado trees !

let the mango trees be 5x
guava be 2x
nd avocado be 8x
so
5x+2x+8x=1245
15x=1245
x=1245/15
x=83
then avocado=8*83
=664
hope this helps u

5x+2x+8x = 1245
15x = 1245
x = 1245/15
x = 83
5 * 83 = 415
2 * 83 = 166
8 * 83 = 664
415 + 166 + 664 = 1245

add up the numbers of units here.Here it is 5+2+8=15.
So 15 units--------->1245 trees.
1 unit ----------> 83 trees
8 units----------> 664 avocado trees.
----------------------
So there is 664 avocado trees in the orchard.
