Most people do not understand why MAC's run so well compared to their pc counterparts. MAC's are designed with very specific hardware requirements unlike pc's, the os expects certain hardware by design so it runs very well. PC's on the other hand running M$ are designed to see a multitude of hardware/software configurations which is why it can be so unstable. Also the operating system itself is designed completely different so it doesn't lend itself to spyware/virus infection's the way windows does.
The same is true for linux as mac's, completely different code not susceptible to spyware/viral infections as much. I'm not saying it cannot happen anything is possible, but not as likely.

There is nothing so special about a mac computers...
only the price... in fact you can do more with a low spec PC...
At the end of the day the biggest problem is people don't know anything about computers..,,, they only know about ms windows 98. xp. and vista, now they are hearing about the mac and it's operating system, O/S (unix).
Once people buy a Mac system they are tied to Apple for the life of the computer, that means they will be over charged for everything, hardware software,
Now here is what you can do with a normal PC :---
You can run OS/X system (mac) on a Intel pc, you can run several operating systems at the same time. the problem today is people are brain washed into thinking MS windows and the mac OS/X is the only thing out there, big mistake on their part..
People will promote their own systems, they have got too. they will tell you there is nothing better, be it the Mac, Windows XP or Vista... cause they don't know any different. What do the people that know the truth do about you brain washed people,

Here is what you do, go to youtube.com and type in the search bar .... linux .... and look at the video clips to see just what can be done with the computer you have now... Linux puts the mac and windows Vista to shame...
There are several versions of linux, so you can take your pick... just do a web search for linux distros

I've worked with both Macs and PCs for years, and I contend that Macs are more user friendly.
It's easier to navigate around the systems and files, and they are NOWHERE near as susceptible to viruses as PCs.

easier to navigate, looks better and its faster.
I use a PPC 1.25Gz Mac with Mac Os 10.4.3 and its faster than my Pc which i built.
E6300, DS3, 2GB ram, 7600GT all overclocked
+ less risk of virus and other nastys
