Why are we here - to pay lots of money to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

What is it for - to help pay for politicians having a good time and doing nothing.

How should we live - pay taxes on time.

What is a lifestyle choice - there isn't one you have to pay your tax or else

Sorry I just got my tax demand, but I do now feel slightly better now I have got that off my chest.

Imagine that you are a seafarer, and you have a boat for your journey upon a vast vast ocean. And the objective of your journey is to get somewhere safe while your boat is still strong, its sails intact, and your enthusiam still ripe. Life in my view can be just like this, a journey from one unknown to the other, where the ocean is the existence full of unfathomable depths below, the tumultuous surface, and the unreachable skies above, where unpredictable winds blow and deadly storms rise. Then the black ocean, upon which your journey rests, is full of monsters of unimaginable terror, ferocity and voraciousness. The only protection you have, is your boat that you have built most careful to withstand all the ravages of an open ocean; but this boat has a limit in time for it to stay seaworthy.

This ocean-going boat is your worldly existence, your physical existence, and you a soul, the precious cargo on board your ship that is to be carried across with utmost care and consideration. Just imagine what if this physical existence would fail someday, as upon an ocean it not all that you can see.

Most of us live to enjoy life, but do we realise that all this partying is only on board a little boat that rocks and rolls upon mighty waves in existence foreboding and end in view. That one day all this is going to come to an end. How would you scatter? What have you in the mind to take you across what is merely in the eye? And if you are not safely ashore you are going to fall in an ocean unknown and unseen so far, as all we see now is the interior of a boat made so comfortable and homely for the sheer pleasure of senses.

While scientific approaches to the meaning of life aim to describe empirical facts about human existence, philosophers are more concerned about the relationship between ideas[citation needed]. For example, philosophers have considered such questions as: 'Is the question "What is the meaning of life?" a meaningful question?';[1]; 'What does the question "What is the meaning of life?" mean?'[2]; and 'If there are no objective values, then is life meaningless?'[3] Some philosophical disciplines have also aimed to develop an understanding of life that explains, regardless of how we came to be here, what we should do now that we are here (such as humanism).

"What is the significance of life?" has been extensively explored by those who attempt to explain the relationship of life to its environment (the universe), and vice versa. Thus, from a scientific point of view, the significance of life is what it is, what it does, and what mechanisms are behind it[citation needed]. In psychology and biology, significance only exists within human and animal minds; significance is subjective and is an emotional function of brains, making it impossible to exist outside of people's thoughts and feelings

To walk with God in righteousness and goodness. To love our neighbor as ourself.

Next, we are told that these following are the principal gifts of God for us to enjoy in our lives: food, drink (yes, alcoholic, but in moderation) our families, and finally our work.

This is the purpose with our existence.
