A 70yr woman in Orem 75mls away from Salt Lake City was left battered and bruised after refusing to give her name to a policeman so he could write her a ticket for not watering her lawn properly. He's been put on a desk while they investigate the situation but here's the thing, Why were they prepared to issue a ticket for this.?

They have a real water shortage there! Odd numbered addresses can water on certain days and even numbers can water on the opposite days!! This doesn't give anybody the right to beat up on an old lady. If your found to be watering your lawn on a day when it's not your turn you will be ticketed and fined. I didn't think it was the police's job to enforce this though I thought it was city halls job!!!!Don't the police have better things to do than look for people who are watering their lawn? I ask you this????? That cop needs a reality check and should lose his job!

Jeez what is the world coming to when a old lady is battered for refusing to give her name, I have no idea why a ticket should be issued for such a thing as not watering a lawn properly, like did he get down on his knees to feel were it was wet or dry, idiotic if you ask me.

And people think the world isn't in danger? Wow. Whenever you beat an old lady, and you're a cop who gets beaten by some teenagers, something is terribly wrong.

In some areas you can only water on certain days to conserve water, especially in dry states. Though I think that officer took his water conservation efforts a little to far

That cop is an idiot. I saw the same thing on TV. In a time when water conservation is pretty darned important, this hellion does this? It makes no sense to me.

That definitely is stupid. What a jobsworth. Maybe if it bothered him so much he should have watered the lawn himself.
