Yet another person who is falling for all this government propaganda. This planet will continue to do what it has always done with or without us. the current warming hasn't even come close to matching the rate of warming that has been scientifically proven to have taken place in the history of earth "FACT". as for "will we survive?" who knows, but I do know us humans are a adaptable species & we wont go with out a fight. Recycling & turning down lights will only ration the amount of in-sustainable rescorses the government can tax us on . It will make no difference to the natural balance of this planet. If you need to worry about anything then worry about the rate at wich the rain forests are being cleared (they are the lungs of the planet after all!).
Just look at Penguins they walk miles & miles across ice & snow to reach the nesting ground. Why? because when the spieces evolved the nesting ground was near the sea & then the ice started making the walk further & further over hundreds of years.

Part of the FACT is that to make changes in the environment, that WE help initiate; there needs to be a common global consciousness.
Certainly; individually; actions like re-cycling help us feel better; but likely have little impact if our "Neighbors" don't follow the same standards.
To directly answer the Q. When Global water levels rise, the water has to go somewhere; Agreed? One can assume that a new coastline might some day be a mile or more inland from where it is now. By the time that happens it may be that an ARK will only be needed for species like the Roach.
The Good thing about the Planet, and the environment, is that the process is cyclical. Evolution is also FACT. I say GOOD in the sense that the Earth will "heal" itself. That may not bode well initially for every living thing, and without imposing anything religious; One might consider doing the best they can, and enjoying what time they have.

Don't panic is a good start! The poles aren't melting, only some of the margins are melting while the interior regions are stable or thickening. Carry on with what you're doing and it might help your grandkids in 100 years, but not YOU. The best thing you can do is ADAPT to climate change and quit swallowing all the propoganda fed to you about CO2 causing our destruction. Panic never helped any situation. You'll survive if you develop a clear head and made changes to adapt your home, lifestyle, and work choices for the coming changes that'll occur in your lifetime.

if the north pole melts then the sea wont rise because its like an ice cube floating in a glass, when it melts the water stays the same, BUT if the south pole starts to melt then the sea will rise to round about 30-100 feet above its current level because of the south pole being a soild land mass(a continent). so yeah well will be screwed

don't panic. while the ice around the north pole is melting that is sea ice and as a result the ice displaces as much water as it contains, so its melting will barely affect the sea level. When you can be slightly concerned is if the ice around anteractica starts to melt but that isn't happening at the moment.
We should all do something to try and reduce the amount of pollution we all cause but there is no need to listen to all the news channels and panic

The thing to remember is this, we do our 'bit' and China and India are producing nearly as much CO2 as the rest of the world!!! China is building a new coal driven power station every two weeks to keep up with demand, what can you do about it NOTHING, why bother, the Govmn't will tax us saying that we have to do something. It's alright doing this if every one around the world cared. THEY DONT. Do we?The world has finite resources, when they're gone thats it!! Byeeee

It is July. The fact that this is the coldest summer I have ever experienced means that I'm using way more heating in my house when I should have turned it off some time back in May. Global warming you say?

I don't live on the coast, so don't worry as much. I am at 1000 ft above sea level. I'd recommend people move away from the sea. You can do all the energy saving you want, but one big mall or indoor stadium will use far more than you'd ever save. It is a losing proposition.

Global warming is occurring.
How much humans are impacting is widely debatable.
And with natural occurrences putting more CO2 in the atmosphere than man's automobiles can come close to, it really lessens mans part.
But you asked a question that really has a religious answer, and I wished you posted it in the religion and spirituality forum.
The Bible promises earth and man will exist forever.
In the future, man will live on a paradise earth, with a perfect life.
Mankind will survive.
That's what I have faith in.

Even if the whole UK and France were not here at all it would make no difference to global warming as the asian countries are now producing all the goods for the west and they are advancing with their own industrial revolution with little or no legislation or regard to the environment. Just enjoy life as we have it....
