1. It is a watershed to 6 Russian main cities.

2.It is home of the rare animals like pelicans, flamingoes, and lotuses .

3.It also provide hydroelectric power to mainland Russia.

4.The fertile river valley provides large quantities of wheat, and also has many mineral riches.

5.It provides food because it serves as a major fishing ground of Russia.

Volga is the longest one,
Danube is the second longest (it starts only in Germany but passes a lot of countries - it's a major waterway from the black sea to the Atlantic (there's a canal joining Danube - Main and Rhine)
