*Be amicable. You don't have to be best friends, but you can at least be civil.
*Be grown up - don't bother revenge or petty behaviour of any description, irrelevant of the circumstances
*Don't stop yourself from moving on, but be polite about it when you do. There's no point in messing around with people's insecurities and sensitivities.
*Don't sleep with them. At all. Not even Once!!! (...ok, I'll let you get away with once - but only to officially say goodbye to the relationship, not to start up some sex buddy thing - just not healthy for two people just out of a relationship with each other... Either you're a couple or you're not - pick a side and stick to it.)
*Try not to cut each other out. No matter how the relationship ended, try to remember how much they have meant to you and what a wonderful person they could be sometimes.
*Don't cut yourself off from being happy just because of what the last person did. Find your own way to be happy and enjoy every person and experience that comes into your life.
