Am I happy? That's a bit of a strange question, esp for the gay section. But I can't sleep and I have nothing better to do, so here goes ...
Right now, I'm not great. I'd like to cleanse my life of a certain ex girlfriend, but circumstances make it impossible. We live in the same neighborhood, are studying the same course at the same university, and we share too many mutual friends - I can't escape her. She's gotten into a relationship with a man. I don't want her back, but her relationship with this guy does bother me ... more than I'd like to admit. And I keep falling for straight girls, so my love life (or lack thereof) is causing a bit of melancholy. I miss being in love! Plus I'm in this weird transitional phase (part of being 20, I guess) ... and I'm not sure what I want to do with my life. I miss feeling driven, you know? I think that's how I measure my happiness - how motivated I feel to get up and make things happen. For me, enthusiasm is a big part of happiness. And what does happiness mean to me? It means happiness! How can I say this without sounding as though I’m quoting some really bad self help book? It means enjoying life, and making the most of everything. It means believing in myself and my future. It means optimism.

I haven't heard any good news in a long time. I seem to have forgotten what the definition of the term is. Yes, I am happy otherwise, I have no measures to assess the degree of my happiness index. I can only compare the sadnesses and happinesses everyday. And hope the latter outweigh the former tomorrow :-|

Contro, I am immensely happy. I really do not attempt to 'measure' my 'happiness.' What does it mean to me? It is a reflection of my mind, of my personality over a great many decades. I do not allow the small stuff to affect me, if I make a small error, and I do three dozen times every day probably, I do not get all bent out of shape (it's an Americanism). I allow myself to be stupid sometimes, to make a fool of myself occasionally, to lay an egg whilst trying to be funny, or humorous. I work exceedingly hard, which I enjoy, and I've been fortunate across my years. I contribute, I create, I love, I have friends who tolerate my eccentricities, I'm forever curious, I read, I see plays and movies, I stay fit, I look after my health: it all adds up to happiness. In a document given life before the USA existed, our Declaration of Independence, a letter to George III, we Americans let it be known that we valued a "pursuit of happiness." In 1776 that was a radical notion across Europe and in the English colonies in North America. I take it to heart!

i'd be lying if i said i was happy

i measure my happiness by those that surround me
so if everyone's happy, im generally happy. that doesn't mean all the time obviously.

happiness is the feeling where you don't once stop to think about the bad things in the world and in your personal life, like you've forgotten or barred them out.

Estoy contenta. On the way to being deliriously happy, of course.
There's no way to measure happiness. The only thing to do is feel it.
Happiness means to me... rays of sunshine streaming out of my brain, even while it's raining.

Apparently, it also means being really, really cheesy. <3

Happiness is watching my boys grow and follow in my footsteps. That helps validate my life, knowing that I took the right path in life. And seeing that they are doing better than I did at their age confirms that I did a good job raising them.

Thanks for asking.

I am happy. Happiness is subjective, and happy people's introspection reveals a feeling of being satisfied with life, having episodes of joy.

happiness to me is getting up in the morning and feeling hope. Once hope has gone, then there is no chance for happiness.

I'm extremely happy because I'm in love, there is no word that can describe my feeling right now!
