ask for a raise in salary. At least I am consistent because I am always the same. Does your boss praise you as well?

He does like you, he's just jealous of all those wonderful qualities you lack. It's because he's the boss and no one wants to hang with him, whereas you suck at your job, so everyone thinks you're so cool. I wouldn't push it by asking for a raise though.

As you have said, you have a special relationship with your boss. For some people "asking" for a raise may be fine, but in your case I think "demand" is what we should be looking at.

Tomorrow morning when you go into the office, sit in front of him and say "listen - I am not asking, I am making a statement - either you pay me what I'm worth, which is at least (and say your current pay multiplied by 1.5) or I walk out that door now - do we understand each other?

You can't fail.

Good luck

He sees the qualities he has, in you! So expect a promotion and a big fat pay rise! No, I don't get praised, I don't even get a permanent co-worker who is willing to work more than a week! No production bonus, no retainer for being a "first Aider", no evening shift premium, the list could go on if I knew what else!

Don't ask for a salary right now. Consistency will have its reward one day. Till then do some constructive self-analysis,work with a lot of focus ,diligence and determination. Work smartly with clarity of thought and love for your job--results will come later. They will . All the Best!

I see you are on good terms with your boss so why not! Better the devil you know as the saying goes!

I think he is paying you a back handed compliment!

PS Perhaps you ought to be more ambitious and go for his job as it is my experience that most bosses are all of what he has accused you of being. So perhaps you could step into his shoes very nicely

Well, try to be nicer to him/her. He/she might look the other way and give you a raise in your salary. Or even better, a promotion. I don't have a boss yet. I'm still in university.

I would start looking for another job. These words seem loud and clear that he is more or less looking for someone to replace you. Forget asking for a hike in your salary he will probably frog march you to the the door immediately.
