Take a vacation?

we used to go once a year but 3 in-laws have fallen on hard times so our extra cash has been going to them.
my last vacation was in 1997.

It was 6 years before I took a real vacation, and I went to Japan to meet my new wife,s family, but it had been a very long time since I had a vacation. I like to take a vacation every year, well heck what am I saying, I would like to be on permanent vacation, every day. lol. Yes, vacations have been far and in between for me, so the next best thing is to live in a place where you feel like it is vacation everyday, so that is why I live Hawaii as it really feels like a vacation everyday. A real vacation? Where you actually go somewhere to relax and have a good time or the kind where you just stay around the house? For years I could afford only the latter, but the last couple of years I've been able to go away for a couple of weeks. It's a real luxury for me. I look forward to it all year long.

I've went on vacation to Japan, that was years ago and I'm still here.

No set pattern, but i've been on 2 this year. But, i try to take at least 1 a year.

What's a vacation?
Even if I get one, I have to be responsible for driving, lodging arrangements, etc....no recreating for me on "vacation"

I don't. I don't like holidays. I haven't been outside the North East in three years. I haven't been outside the country in 15 years.

Once year I generally go to New Zealand to see family

Not as much as I would like. I took one in April and actually went away and I'm off this week. I could get used to this.
