I would plant it in the best soil in my garden, throw in some fertilizer, and water it regularly.
In a few months, I'd harvest a lovely crop of fresh computers, sell them on eBay, be able to afford to quit my day job, and spend 16 hours a day on Yahoo Answers [using one of the computers I just harvested, naturally].
Now tell the truth -- you were expecting me to give some silly, nonsensical answer, weren't you?

Is this before or after I cry and go into a hissy fit and run naked through the forest screaming that it must not be true...but after a trip thought my hospitals' psychiatric ward, free trip I must add, I will try and use what I can for my new system, as I have now 3 times, and the rest I take it to a hazardous waste site....in my home, we have three computers and the main one uses an old monitor from my sister's work and recycled parts from my old system....the rest went to a boy who lives with us and he has it combined with another that my daughter dropped off after university..this boy, from the streets before we took him in...is so excited about what he has...he brought one from where he lived off and on before and he willed that one to his mother and she is using that with a monitor she got from a charity shop..so, answer is I reuse and recycle then dispose of properly.

I am currently majoring in computers so what i would recommend to you is that if are planning to buy a new computer try to save the hard drive out of the old computer and use it as a slave in the new computer. Also if you happen to have the same RAM you maybe able to put it into the new computer as well. If the video/graphic card in your new computer isnt as good as your old one, try switching the cards and you might get better graphics. I hoped this helped. Good Luck

First I would cuss and cry because I just bought this one.
Then I would probably give it to my kids to cannibalize because they have the skills to do that. Finally I would buy another because my work requires that I spend significant time on line.
...now I feel apprehensive

Drill a hole through the cabinet and run a nylon rope through. Throw it onboard the family ski boat and use it for a boat anchor while picnicking.

I would throw it in the dumpster. I don't like keeping useless things in my home.
