A friend gave me a young lemon grass plant in a plastic pot. It is now winter time in New Zealand and I am not sure what to do with the plant. Should I replant it in a new pot and keep it indoor until spring time? I'm hopeless at gardening...

If there are roots coming out of the bottom of the pot, yes, repot it. Lemon grass wants full sun, a south window inside would be good. Don't think it would survive your winter. If it doesn't make it, let me know, I have lots.
