Two of my kids are earwax factories. Debrox doesn't help them. Their doctor told me to mix equal portions of hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol and put a few drops at a time into the affected ear (one at a time) - keep that ear pointed up so none of the liquid pours out. Let set several minutes, then using an ear syringe GENTLY suck the liquid out. The reason for mixing the peroxide with alcohol is that the peroxide will soften the wax, and the alcohol will speed evaporation so you're not left with fluid in your ear that can cause problems of its own.

Repeat up to three times a day until the blockage is removed. More than 3 times in one day can irritate the ear and discourage further treatment.

When the wax is up against the eardrum, a doctor can take a special tool - looks like a tiny shoehorn - and scoop the wax out. That's painful though, because it's so close to the eardrum and that far in it's usually inflamed and tender.

HOWEVER - if I keep their ears candled regularly, the peroxide/alcohol drops aren't even necessary.

I had that problem about a year ago, and tried several different things. I tried ear candles (think I got them at GNC) and those didn't work, and I also tried so sort of drops that I got at Walgreen's and those also didn't work. What worked for me was going to the doctor. She flushed out my ears by shooting warm water in them. I was in there for 5 minutes and when she was done, my ears were much better. If you're having problems with ear wax, that's what I would recommend.

Cerumenex, however I do think it is a prescription medication, but it is wonderful......you just put the drops in and within a few days, the wax will get mushy and you can get it out.....
DO NOT use Q-tips or anything else in your ears.....this can cause damage especially if you have wax in there, you will push it up against your ear drum and when trying to remove the wax it can cause damage.....Call your doc. and see if they can call this in for you....
My son has the same problems......
GOOD LUCK......

Some people swear by ear candeling.

I like to put peroxide in my ears, let it sit a minute, and then flush them . . . then us murine (some like debrox) let it set a while, and flush them again.

I usually do it twice a day for like a week.

Hydrogen peroxide. If that doesn't work see an ENT as nothing else will. Don't ever stick anything solid in your ear either.

hmmm...just keep using earwax removal or you could look at it this way....

When you lose hearing your other senses will compensate for it :D
