I think to a certain extent yes we can forgive a person as in accepting them with their mistakes and learning to live with it, but no matter how hard we try to erase it from our memory...(which I am sure most people wish to do) we cannot simply because its embarked in our memory. Obviously certain aspect had a lasting impression that we would never forget, its just how the human mind is, we trully can never forget.

I think it depends on what the person has done. I was abused as a child and I can't forget and I certainly can't forgive, even though I have moved on with my life I will carry the mental scars forever

I never forget, I forgive to an extent but it's always at the back of my mind what they've done before so makes me more wary.

If someone has wronged you it is better to forgive than let it eat you up inside, but you don't have to forget.

I tried to forgive. I did so for years. The scars stopped me forgetting. and then they had to go and mock me for the damage they caused. So I'm back to wishing them harm.

I think it really depends on what has been done. I find it quite easy to forgive, but if my husband ever cheated on me I would find that unforgivable.

no.. i try to but some ppl really make a impact on you in a bad way that you can't forgive totally.

oh i always forgive but never forget. because obviously that person did something to the extreme for it to be embedded into my brain!!!
