This story made me feel sick. A wman, her lover and another guy, kept Kevin Davies locked in a shed and regularly beat him, fed him potato peelings and kept a diary of it. They also made a video of him.
They were not found gulity of murder, as the jury couldnt rule out the epilepsy had killed him
I would have thought locking someone in a shed for 4 months, therefore denying them epilepsy medication, is muder?

Thats terrible, Babysham!
They murdered him and should've got life imprisonment.
Whats makes people (they were kids once, weren't they?) do such satanic things? Its live we now live in a sick society. Can't listen to the news without hearing something sick & horrific like this case. Is it that the entire family value system has broken down & people are losing their sense of right & wrong?

Whether it was murder would depend how the judge advised the jury on a matter of law.
Whatever they were convicted of, it is a pity that the judge did not recommend, as in the case of Brady - the Moors murderer - that he should never see the light of day again.
Of course there are always do-gooders, who will make every attempt to circumvent the punishment such monsters deserve, even in the case of the disgusting Myra Hindley, Brady's partner, who might have got out, had not a timely heart-attack carried her off to hell, where one hopes she is being constantly re-fried.
Sammie: it is up to the court to try the case, not solicitors. Whatever a person is accused of, he is entitled to representation. Lawyers are like doctors, and do not allow personal considerations to intervene.

I've seen and heard some nasty things in my life, but this is the absolute lowest. Our judicial system was once the envy of the free world, now I despair. Sadly the charges were reduced because the so called experts could not rule out the victims condition as cause of death. In my world, this was Manslaughter at least. If the authorities could "transfer malice" it would have been murder. We seriously need a change to our judicial system, so that this could be dealt with as murder.

I always understood that the definition of murder under such circumstances is such that :- the act has to be pre-meditated and deliberate. Dont the facts speak for themselves that this was a 'deliberate' act with malice aforethought? The judges in this country are driving me bonkers......and how come the neighbours didnt hear anything, considering the poor man was repeatedly beaten and the shed was surrounded by several other houses. The neighbours should be ashamed of themselves along with the callous, sick weirdo's that did it!

I saw it last night on the news. I can't believe the people responsible for beating, starving and denying this poor man of his necessary medication were not found guilty of murder. It shows how our laws in this country are a joke. Human life means nothing anymore, yet, someone attempting to steal money, ie robbing a bank, would get a far tougher sentence.

Wow!! Where is the justice for this man? I think people in the community need to seriously take some action legally against this judge and do what they can to get his job taken away. I would be scared someone would commit a crime against myself or my loved ones, this judge would be trying the case and the criminal would get off with a slap on the wrist. These people will be in their mid 30's and mid 40's when they get out of prison and will likely commit similar crimes or maybe even try to do something even more severe. Makes me so sick to hear about these stories. Sounds like this judge might be friends with the one who sentenced a pedophile by having him buy a bike for the child he violated.

I too was disgusted by this. Especially as they had footage of the poor man being forced to say that he was being well cared for.
If these people are capable of this type of torture on any living creature let alone a vulnerable human being then they should be locked away for life.
One question I have however is where did his mother think he was for 4 months? Didnt she think to check on his wellbeing?

the same thought has been going through my head since i read that story. If he hadn't been looked up against his own will, he would have been able to get what ever medication or treatment he needed and would still be alive so i do see them as murderers as they stopped him from doing that. Surely its that simple? I feel for Kevin and his family. Those people are so sick.

totally agree, i think in circumstances like this it is ridiculous that it is the duty of the prosecution to prove that it was not the epilepsy that killed him
had he not been locked in a shed and had an epileptic fit chances are he would have survived
i think it is safe to say that it was the torture that killed him and these people should have the same done to them
