Would he end up being called Pooper or anything or am I just overly-paranoid?

Other than that one nickname possibility, I absolutely love the name! Is it too big of a risk to take?

I hate to say this, but watch the disses on the tradespeople. Where I am they make more than pretty much anyone, excluding Doctors and engineers. :-( Sad for us teachers and nurses, but hey, they are in such high demand right now I guess the pay is to bring people in the trade.

A cooper was a highly skilled tradesman, there is nothing wrong with being associated with someone who had such a rare skill, it's not something that is done so much so it's not only highly skilled it's a dying art. I think Cooper makes a strong sounding name for a boy, and the last thing that came to mind was pooper.

I love it!!! That's a perfect name. If I had a little boy, I'd like to name him Cooper...it sounds like a guy who would know how to fix anything, a very masculine guy :-)

I call my daughter Pooper sometimes, and her name is Sophia. My friend calls her daughter Pooper too, and her name is Kylee...so naming him Cooper wouldn't make him any more likely to get the nickname.

Cooper is a good name . He would probably shorten it to Coop later on in life.

Everyone I know gets teased about their name in some way or another. They get over it.

Some name suggestions using Cooper:

Cooper Patrick
Cooper Allen
Cooper Thomas
Cooper Davis
Liam Cooper

Its always hard to pick a name for a child but when I think of the name Cooper I think of an old coon hound dog. Cooper the coon dog. Good luck with your baby boy and choosing a name.

It's one of those names that is cute when you are a baby, but sounds less cute when you are a 40 year old man. I really hate it.
