a woman left her husband and formed a civil partnership with her lesbian lover, on the understanding that her husband was filing for divorce, she didn't declare the previous marriage when she was registered.. at the same marriage registration office, and if found guilty of Bigamy, will be the first UK bigamy case involving a lesbian partnership.

in your own opinions, how do you think this reflects on the LGBT community? and what are your views on what has happened?

i think the main reason they're coming down on her is because she failed to declare the marriage when she registered her partnership at the office, but she had reason to believe that her previous engagement was over anway, as he husband physically told her that he was filing for divorce.

turns out that she now has left her lesbian partner and gone back to her husband while she awaits the decision.

She should have had the divorce papers in hand before she applied for a civil partnership. Just because someone says they'll do something, doens't guarantee it'll get done.
The husband was an (dirty word) for not filing the divorce, but the woman was negligent in not confirming her divorce and reporting her previous marriage.

If they charge this as a bigamy case, then they must recognize gay marriage as equal to str8 marriage. If it's not the same, how can there be a crime?

Just my opinion....

It depends if they consider marriage equal to civil partnership for one thing - which it looks like they do.

As it reflects on the LGBT community? Well - unhappily, but all humans make mistakes. I think what happened is that she forgot to get those divorce papers in her hand before she went forward with the civil partnership!

She is just bi and trying to get her kicks from both sides. But she went about it the wrong way so she should be punished.

Just because of her now the LGBT community is going have more hate as it shows that we are loose and don't care what we do which is wrong.

Very bad person very bad example made of who we are not

well marriage and civil partnership are two different things technically so I don't see how they can get her for bigamy. If they want to try her for that they should make same sex marriage legal.

Thats dreadful, but she didn't know she was still married, so why should she be held responsible.

I think it's great and well deserved. She made her bed and it's about time the husband is rewarded when it's the wife who's a scumbag
