Barak Obama seems to have inspired many Americans as a road to change, but with Muslim Radicals perpetrating acts of violence against the west, is the USA prepared to vote in a man who is not only a Muslim but studied at a known fundementalist Islamic school? Can this be reconciled with America's security?

If any one cares to check - Obama may not be registered as a Muslim, his father, a Kenyan Muslim was, Obama DID study at a Madrasah, what one studies at a madrasah is Islam. I have no wish to denigrate Islam or Obama, his name is a very Islami & Arabic name "Barak" meaning blessing/s. As to how peaceful Islam is as a religion, there are several passages that in fact urge the destruction (killing) of the unbeliever. Christians in the medieval age also killed "infidels" and heretics, but the New Testament enjoins them to love every one including their enemies. The word Islam or Muslim has nothing to do with peace, it has a very simple meaning "submission." If you read the Qoran, it leaves no room for any form of law or societal difference but covers and restricts every act of daily living. Can one who is a believer in or influenced by Islam lead a western secular democratic nation with separation of state and church. Also many 1000s of Muslims study at Christain Schools.

Barak Obama is a Christian who attended a non-religous Indonesian public school as a very young child.

Even if he did practice the Muslim religion, how would anyone come to know? It's the feeling and not just the practice. I don't think anyone is this would is following the 7 sins in Christianity. A lot of Hindus do eat beef. A lot of Muslims do drink alcohol. We need to modernize religion because all the holy books were written a long long time back. Back then it was feasible to follow the teachings but now it is not. Some people are even atheists. Their lives are running smoothly. It's just a matter of choice.

Obama is NOT a Muslim, he is a Christian and has been for a long time. People are trying to spread this rumor so "smear" him. I believe his father was a Muslim and his mother a Christian. Barak attended first grade in a public school in SE Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia?) which was run by Muslims, but it wasn't a fundamentalist school... it's common there for schools to be run by the church.
Barak Obama is no threat to American security, but ignorance and prejudice are.

What's your point, that Obama is to be judged by the religion of his father? How low can you go? Barack Obama, albeit inexperienced, is an American to his core. He studied abroad, big deal, a lot of people do. America's security is not threatened, but even if it is, I'd rather America's security be threatened than its fundamental foundation of freedom and equality.

Barack Obama studied at Fransiskus Asisi Elementary School, Indonesia. It's a christian school, not fundamentalist islamic school. I know that coz I am from Indonesia. He is a Christian, United Chruch of Christ, and I am a Roman Catholic.

I don't believe that Obama is muslim!
However, I believe I've heard it said before and maybe it's time that people cleared the air of the gossip.
I think if Obama was muslim it would have come out way before now and it should be discussed about how these kinds of rumers get started.
