I really loved The Prisoner of Azkaban. It was a definite departure in style from the previous two films (different director, so no wonder!)
I'm not sure it was as true to the book as the others, however. I'm not even talking about the plot--I accept that a LOT had to be condensed for time. But I think PoA's director took a lot of license with the setting. He completely changed the layout of Hogwarts. Making a focal point out of the clock (which isn't even mentioned in the book, I don't think) was an effective, stylistic way of reinforcing the importance in the story of the passage of time.
But of the four movies so far, it's still my favorite! I think the casting was spot on!
My daughter and I can't wait till Wednesday!

My fave book so far has definately got to be the fourth and most recent movie, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire. It had the most action and in my opinion represented the book the best out of the 4. The Prisoner Of Azkaban, was also awesome! x-x-x =P

I think the first one has been the best so far. It stuck to the story the best and was done beautifully. Almost everything was how I imagined it and it had a very grand, awe-inspiring feel to it. The one I like the least was POA, it was visually stunning and the cinematogrophy was done extremely well and capture the dark tone of the book. But as a representation of the Harry Potter world as a whole it was really, really lacking - so much was changed unnecessarily. Which is unfortunate because it was my favorite book.

My 2 faves are Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire, then Chamber of Secrets ,then Philosopher's Stone. I saw Order of the phoenix today.... there weren't many talking scenes so i suppose the audience won't be so clued in about stuff like the prophecy. I suppose the fight scenes were good (like with the special effects and stuff) but it isnt that good to represent the series. Prisoner of Azkaban was great, esp I loved the Hogsmeade scenes:)

Goblet of Fire. Prisoner of Azkaban missed out too much important information - my husband hasn't read the books and he didn't have clue what was going on in that film. It jumped about too much as well, but style wise I agree it was good.

i prefered "Goblet of Fire"...especially the way they managed to show the dragons, the way they managed to bring across the glory of world cup to life, wonderful way the goblet of fire was protraited, loved Moody's makeup and gosh i loved "Ralph Finnes" as Voldemort.....
The CGI, cast and amazing speed with which the movie touches almost all important points in story were the BEST.
The dual between Lord Voldemort and Harry has been done superbly.....and how can you forget the most lovely representation of the Dark Mark....mannnnnn....they really brought the terror of looking at Dark mark from the pages of the book out on the screen....i had goosbumps looking at that green serpent moving out of the skull.......

Socereror's Stone. Followed the book better and the special effects were used as a tool for telling the story. Thusly they weren;t as heavily focused on.

either the philosopher's stone or the chamber of secrets because the original actor who played dumbledore in these movies got the character PERFECTLY, but the new dumbledore in the rest of the movies is way too loud and harsh, which is the complete opposite of how he's described in the books!
