Yes, i love doing it. Good writers have the tact of quickly catching the reader. ANd good readers can empathise with at least on character of the story.
i get carried away by characters very easily. I have been a Myriad of people - Copperfield, Micawber, Sai, jemubhai, Ammu, Heathcliff, Nelly Dean, De Silva, Adam Warner, potter (after watching the movie, though i was more comfortable as Hermoine ....hahaha), Peter (of Narnia) even the White Witch.
i think this is a wonderful way to get inside the story and get a hang of it. Of course, I play all the characters by and by of the stories i write or think to write.
Here this is not fiction, but TW K fo you.

I never have until recently. I tried to portray my younger self in characters but in the story I'm currently working on the main character and I share many similarities. This also happens to be the story I have been the most passionate about so I guess it goes hand in hand.

Ive never put my entire personality and such into a story before, but I've put parts of my peronsality and opinions into a character. Usually the main character, so I can reach their emotions and thoughts much mor easily than somebody I don't understand.
It sounds like an interesting book too! I would read it. :]

Yes, I have. But I've seldom written fiction, and never had any fiction published. I also showed up in two different stories written by others! One a cartoon, one porno. The cartoon was flattering, the porno was definitely NOT flattering!

i've got by no ability carried out that. i like arising characters and attending to be attentive to them. i could no longer do this if I placed myself into the story. I hate examining a narrative the place the strongest character is a thinly veiled version of the author because of the fact they often placed a fable Mary-Sue version of themselves in.

There's always a bit of me in my stories. I think it goes without saying. the writer puts them selves in the characters shoes and visa versa. So you'll living the story, it's how you would react to a situation.
As the saying goes.. write about what you know.
