The best answer would be C. They were mostly interested in the fur trade and trapping especially in the Ohio Valley. This included the strategic "Forks of the Ohio". They built a fort where three rivers come together. Pittsburgh developed here. This gave them access to the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers and the interior of the continent. The French & Indian War between the French and the British began here. I have to say that B is also correct. Quebec was colonized by the French. That was also taken by the British in the war. That's one of the reasons it was not difficult for the British to take so much of their territories during the French and Indian War. Since the French had not established colonies, the area in question was sparsely populated and their troops were severely outnumbered by the British.
