I saw it and we definitely need to change things here. And I disagree that it's "socialized" medicine. It's about TIME that our tax money actually went to serve US! I'm sick of my tax dollars being used to subsidize HMOs, the pharmaceutical industry, and big corporations too cheap to either pay wages where people can afford to pay for health care or provide insurance. All we need to do is keep taxes the way they are and undo the special tax cuts for the top 1%.

Sicko, was probably one of the most engrossing and moving documentaries I have ever seen. That is saying a lot considering I am an avid viewer of many documentaries. Granted Michael Moore, like any good media personality, has an amazing talent of slanting the issue, but there is a large grain of truth in what he has to say, and he illustrates that truth skillfully.

I have always thought that the privatization of healthcare wasn’t entirely wrong, but that it should not be COMPLETELY privatized. Privatization is the essential foundation of capitalism, which engenders innovation in all fields, including medicine. But I have always believed some portions of medicine should be socialized so that all have equal access to it, especially preventive medicine. Moore’s film further reinforces that idea in my mind. His comparison of socialized systems in England, Canada, France and even Cuba, underscore the colossal lie we have been told that socialized medicine would lead to terrible medical care. The mere longer life spans than occurs in all the nations spoken about, that use socialized medicine, attest to the efficacy of this most democratic of healthcare systems.

I am a firm believer in the free market, but TOTALLY free markets, as we have seen in other industries, can lead to violations by businessmen that have real human consequences. A truly efficient system would be one that is hybrid of privatization and socialized medicine. The privatization would be in pharmaceutical research, and the socialized portion should be in the administration of medical service.

The US health care system is broke and needs fixing. In the documentary I think he showed just how well a national health care system can and does work in Canada, France, and Great Britian. I was surprised to hear that Great Britian has been running theirs since 1948. The biggest problem we have to over come will be in getting through the millions of dollars that the insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies stand to lose. After watching Sicko I was not outraged, I was ashamed that the wealthiest country on earth treats it's people so poorly.

I saw "Sicko" this past week-end. I think Michael Moore did a good job. I have believed for the past 20 years that the United Stated needed to put health care for all on the top priority list. I still believe this; and even more so after seeing "Sicko". I was sorry that Hilary Clinton's plans for health care in this country were squashed 14 years ago. The pharmaceutical companies make big profits; and hospitals and HMOs have become big business. They have all gotten out of control to the detriment of our health system. They need to be stopped. We need to demand that our representatives commit to making health care for all a top priority. Thousands of people do die in the United States every year from lack of health care. On May 7th, 2007, my nephew died at the age of 45 from a massive heart attack brought on from an asthmatic attack. He had no health care insurance; because of this, he ignored symptoms he had prior to his death.

because of the fact there are purely some genuine liberals on the national political scene on account that Clinton invented the "New Democrats", of which President Obama is one. "New Democrats" are purely professional-selection, gun careful Republicans. the actuality that Wall street executives and companies are the President's best supporters underscores this theory. At this ingredient very few national elected officers characterize the individuals. as a rule, they characterize their campaign individuals.

I think it's crock. I don't think he lied, but he only put in date that favors him, and hid those that he didn't like.

I have Canadian relatives, and they prefer American medicine. WHen you are really sick, The Canadian system falls apart. THey lack the specialist that American has.

There is another reason why Healthcare appears to be skyrocketing. In Most industries, part of the staff is outsources. This keeps inflation low. Healthcare is very limited in outsourcing. That way, healthcare prices would go up at a hire rate.

I worked for the VA Hospitals for a while, and I can tell you, letting the government in charge of health care is a bad idea. Corruption is rampant in the government, and the care is extremely bad. Look at all the news items on Walter reed Hospital. Also look at other government hospitals like the VA system, and the county hospital. Look at the news on Martin Luther King-Drew hospital.

Edit: What Hillary did was a disaster. Look up the level of Nosocomial deaths during the Clinton Administration. When Clinton force the hospital to cut cost, by threatening them with National Healthcare, death's caused by the Hospitals skyrocketed.

I watched about 3/4 of it. Thought it was skewed just like all of Moore's phony lying documentaries. Hell no, I don't want socialized medicine. We already have it, medicare and medicaid, and we can get rid of them. If the government would let the free market truly run the health care industry and get rid of medicaid and medicare, prices on insurance, treatment and pharmaceuticals would plummet. Not to mention, stop all these damned law suits against doctors and hospitals that also drive up the health care costs.

If you people want socialism and socialized medicine so bad, move the f*ck to Europe or Canada.
