These are from the eoils.net website. I'm not sure what your 'wild rose' is.

Vanilla is the only member of the Orchid family used I aromatherapy. The cost of this oil means that it can be difficult to find unadulterated. This is another of those plant parts whose scent only develops after a process. The seed pods are picked and are fermented rather than merely dried. This fermentation process allows the Vanillin to develop. The smell of Vanilla is familiar to everyone and the product is used widely as a flavoring additive and to scent many products. The scent of Vanilla is emotionally calming, easing tension and anger.

Orange-The smell is sweet and light, just like a peeled orange. This citrus oil is often used as an inhalant because it is an effective antidepressant. It relieves nervous tension and is a great addition to blend for the home for all seasons. It is often used just for the cheery and uplifting smell. Used in a massage blend it would stimulate the adrenals and relieve water retention. Orange oil is a great addition to a lotion for chapped or fissured skin, it would soften the skin while strengthening the epidermal layer by encouraging the individual cells to be well hydrated. It would be a fun addition to a homemade household cleanser.

Sandalwood-May be called Mysore.
There are a number of trees of different families that share the common name of Sandalwood resulting in lack of clarity. The tree Santalum album is a parasitic plant growing in Southern India. The plant is nearing an endangered state, the Indian government has a few patents for synthetic Sandalwood oil and it is possible that true Sandalwood will become unavailable shortly. Primarily used in perfumery and in meditation as it opens the third eye, quiets obsessions and frees one of past ties. Can be added to baths and to massage blends to decongest the lymph system, to reduce muscular spasms, to heal generally and to moisturize.

Rose - The place that Roses and their scent holds in culture is unequalled. Although there are thousands of varieties of Rose, just a few are used for the production of essential oils. The Damask Rose or Pink Damask Rose is probably the oldest Rose. It is unknown in the wild and may be called the Apothecary Rose or the Dog Rose. The White Damask Rose (alba) contains less oil than the Pink and has a slightly weaker scent. It is planted along with the Pink to differentiate fields and to act as a wind screen. The oil is extracted by steam distillation and by chemical extraction. The concretes and absolutes are considered to be of higher quality because the oil was not subjected to the higher temperatures of steam distillation. I have found that the concretes and absolutes sometimes need to be aired out to allow that chemical smell that sometimes lingers to dissipate. The steam distilled oils sometimes have a caramel-like quality that can be interesting. Rose oil has many applications for the skin and the cardiovascular system, as well as the digestive and nervous system. The cost, however, keeps Rose as an oil to inhale.

Jasmine - The flowers are used to produce a small quantity of rich and exquisite oil. This is indispensable for the perfume industry. Although the essential oil has valid topical applications, the cost makes liberal use unrealistic. Can be applied in a massage oil to treat a headache, on the pelvic region to relieve menstrual problems, as a tonic for the uterus and for the pains of labor. Used as an inhalant to relieve stress and depression.

Lemon-This smells just like you would expect, bright and clean and like someone is peeling a lemon. Lemon oil is antibacterial and antiseptic. Some of the efficacy of the oil is lost when it has aged. Since citrus oils age rather quickly find ways to use you lemon while it it still nice and fresh. Lemon oil is best employed for its scent, it is added to cleansers for the home and body .Use care when using topically as it can be phototoxic.

Believe it or not, scents do enhance an emotion. I believe it is due to our smell sensory. It stimulates something. That is why it does the things it does like relaxes or stresses or gets all worked up. Like for me cherry blossom relaxs me for some reason. The scent brings a calm feeling because it reminds me of peace on the beach. See, it triggers thoughts and memories. Then it reminds me of youth, when there was not the stress of adult life. Then there is the scent of this kid perfume that smells like coconut and the beach sun tan lotion. This sometimes can stress me out or make me have an attitude to welcome a good time. Try it and you will understand what I am saying more.

I know that "Silky Scents" has essential oils & organic essential oils, and they have a free recipe section. You'll probably be able to find all the information there. Plus they have the pictures of each plant. You can google their name to find them online.

Why?

smell receptors link to the part of the brain that is sometimes called "the reptile brain." It doesn't go to the Cerebrum to be analyzed the same way other information is. or if it does, it goes to the reptile brain immediately, sometimes causing immediate effects.
