It started out slow and it ended with a fizzle. Young stars like Prince Fielder and Ryan Howard choked, the entire first round over all was a snooze fest. Vlad and Rios only hit 5 homers between the two of them in the finals. One of the worst Home Run Derbys in years.

Agreed. Middle round was the only fun part. Also it lacked star power. How do you have AROD, Griffey and Bonds in the house and none in the Derby.

Being an Angel fan, I was happy that Vlad won, but I do agree it was a bore.Let's be real on why though, the early start for the East Coast doomed the Derby, probably like it'll doom the beginning of the All-Star game tomorrow. Because of the start time, the sluggers couldn't see the ball in the shadows. When the derby began the pitcher's mound was in sunlight and Home plate was in the shadows, making it hard for batters to pick up the ball, leading to a lot of balls not going yard. Think of how the first 3 innings will be tomorrow.

When I saw who was in the Home Run Derby, I knew for sure it was going to be boring. Although Alex Rios did surprise me.

I thought it was ok. I only saw the middle of the second round untill the end. I thought Alex Rodriguez and Prince Fielder should have done it. They are the best home-run hitters in all of baseball right now.

I agree, I was hoping that bonds (although i don't respect him for cheating) and griffey were gonna be in it this year. it's gotten more boring year after year. they've got to shorten it up to around 5 outs a round, they get fatigued and that's when players swings get messed up (see 06 bobby abreu).

they didnt choke. its a pitchers park and the shadows were doing a number on them
