I think everyone has. It is hard to know when it has happened to you. I used to experience frequent depression, but was not always even aware of it happening. I have been successful at developing coping mechanisms.I try to hang with positive folks. It helps to keep busy. The surefire way to climb out of a deep funk is to help others. I think anti-depressants make it worse and create a whole new batch of problems.

A few times in my life... I coped by taking one moment at a time, talking to supportive friends and family A LOT... and trying to take pleasure in and appreciate the simplest things. No matter what, things can get better somehow, and eventually they do. Even Winston Churchill suffered depression at times... and many other people you would not suspect.

Yes. It took a long time. It creeped up on me in silence too. Until the day I could not even step out my apartment. My friends helped me. They took me to a shelter to get me a dog: Morpheus. Morpheus gave me life again. Little by little, I started to get a taste for living again. Then he and I moved away and after two years (yeah, it took that long, I am finally back). If it is for you or someone you love, all I can advise is to hang in there, my friend. It will be better. Just hang in there and try (or the person you know) not to be alone if possible. I was lucky to meet a great mentor in the process though with whom I talked. Therapy actually was a great help for me.

there's no particular fire answer to the situation. some human beings get depressed and chatting with others may cause them to extra depressed or lead them into thinking there is extra there than meant, possibly even tying them to you so which you become their clarification for happening. on the different hand, some persons are so far long gone that they simply want a variety be conscious from somebody. anybody. Its incredibly as much as you elect the place your chum falls as you comprehend them extra beneficial than we do. i can in basic terms say that doing no longer something isn't the main suitable process action. i've got lost a chum that I in many circumstances think of i will have accomplished some thing to shop and its no longer a stable situation to be left thinking approximately. maximum suitable of success to you and your chum...

Very much so, I had to quit work. I have been seeing a psychiatrist since 2001. The best help has been through the therapist I'm seeing. I can said anything and know it won't be repeated. Of course the med's helped too.

There is always a rougher, tougher circumstance then your own.
That which brings you down to the darkest depths of your mind, will be the same that brings you higher.
