It would seem not. The occasional typo, I understand, it happens to all of us. The use of the wrong word or synonym, and just plain,(plane) wacky spellings drive me nuts. There is a spell check here for a purpose.
FYI The question listed above yours had a person asking about a specific edition of a motorcycle, and asked about the, "special addition". I thought it was new math at first.

It's so exciting to find someone besides myself that has noticed the horrible spelling on Yahoo Answers! Every time I log on, I just have to shake my head at the atrocious spelling on display. LOL! Makes me wonder just what they teach in school these days

People do know how to spell, but they are so caught up in spewing out bad answers to every question they can that they don't want to waste their precious time typing one extra letter or USING THE SPELL CHECK BUILT INTO YAHOO ANSWERS!

Lots of us do know how to spell, and spell well, and many don't, but who cares? Is this an exclusive society only for good spellers? I enjoy the complete range of answers we get from all kinds of people with all kinds of backgrounds, so little things like spelling mistakes don't bother me at all.
What does bother me, however, is people who ask questions like this and don't even bother to check their own questions! It is amazing how many spelling and grammatical errors you can find in questions posed by people criticizing the spelling and grammar of others. Like I say, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!! No spelling mistakes in yours by the way but ... umm ... did you mean to say Yahoo ANSWERS??

It's usually pretty easy to tell whether someone makes an innocent typo and just failed to catch it, or whether they either cannot spell well or simply have developed bad 'text messaging' habits. I sometimes think text messaging is the most detrimental development to human communication yet witnessed by mankind. ;)

Careless mistakes. Personally, I think that if you want people to take you seriously you should use spell check.
(Yes, I was really careful when typing that. hahaha)

Some do, others just don't seem to care.
I think those that miss spell a lot are just in to big of a hurry.

I do if i misspell it is because i mistyped plus why do people not use the spell check
